چکیده
Information und Informationsverarbeitung gehören mittlerweile zu den wichtigsten Faktoren wirtschaftlichen und wissenschaftlichen Erfolges. Gleichzeitig wollen Unternehmen und Forschungsorganisationen diesen Bedarf möglichst kosteneffizient befriedigen in Zeiten des Cloud-Computings am besten als einen extern verwalteten Service. Im ersten Teil dieses Vortrags werden Datenbanksystem-Erweiterungen für die Mandantenoder Multi-Tenancy-Fähigkeit untersucht. Insbesondere geht es darum, erweiterbare Datenmodelle vieler Mandanten (Tenants) auf ein Datenbanksystem zu konsolidieren, um dadurch die Betriebskosten zu reduzieren. Es werden mehrere Schemaabbildungstechniken für relationale Datenbanksysteme vorgestellt und deren Leistungsfähigkeit verglichen. Im zweiten Teil des Vortrags geht es um Quality-of-Service für Datenbankdienste. In MultiTenancy-Anwendungen ist die Selbstadministration der Software/Hardware-Infrastruktur eine wichtige Voraussetzung, um hochwertige Datenbankdienste in einem CloudComputing-Ansatz garantieren zu können. Den Benutzern werden in Service Level Agreements (SLAs) bestimmte Quality of Service-Garantien zugesichert, deren Erfüllung kontinuierlich überwacht wird. Gerade das Datenbanksystem stellt aber vielfach die Achillesverse in einer derartigen Architektur dar, da letztendlich fast alle Services darauf zugreifen, um ihre Zustände dauerhaft zu verwalten.
